This project comprises the construction of a 16000m² poultry site, designed to represent a new, modern approach to agricultural building. The units feature a double-panel composite system with integrated air ventilation channels, enhancing thermal efficiency and airflow.
Biosecurity has played a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of this site. Key features include a dedicated recycling vehicle misting system, airlock entry doors, and a secure turnstile access point with a recurring passcode system. These measures have been implemented to minimise risk and ensure controlled access—effectively mitigating any potential AI-related vulnerabilities.
Sustainability is at the core of this development, with renewable energy solutions including ground source heating, a biomass and CHP unit, a 1MW solar array, and 2MW of battery storage. The site was constructed using soil stabilisation techniques, reducing the need for imported aggregates by approximately 70%.
Additional sustainable measures include the use of recycled plastic drainage systems and environmentally conscious concrete, further minimising the project’s carbon footprint.
